Courage is the most important of all the virtues because without it, you can’t practice any other virtue consistently. You can practice any virtue erratically but nothing consistently without Courage

– Maya Angelou

How stable are your foundations? How long did they take to build? What life experiences either personally or professionally have added to your building blocks?

You know the unseen lower levels, the basis for everything that you hold true. The levels that sustain you through the times, when the odds seem insurmountable.

Courage is not the absence of fear!

It is a daily choice to keep moving forward and is based on perspective. It is the small, quiet voice at the end of the day that whispers, keep going!

Fear is an easy emotion to lean into. It’s the known perspective; the comfortable space in which we can base our decision making. However, leaning into the positive emotion of Courage develops character, increases our level of confidence and readjusts what we thought was possible.

Sometimes we need to follow the Nike example and “Just do It”.

Courage is like any muscle within your body, it needs continuous exercise to ensure its strength and stability. It enables you to live a life without regret and in the face of adversity, it sustains you to hold on long enough to win.

The true test of courage comes in the ability to leave the well-worn path, the one that produces consistent results. Growth comes when we give ourselves permission to adjust our trajectory. Our adjustments can be macro or micro in nature however, in doing so we must move into a space of creative thinking and learn new ways to ensure continued success in all areas of our lives.

What steps will you take today, tomorrow and in the future.

Don’t forget, Courage is contagious!
